The first bowler to pick a one day international (ODI) hat-trick was Jalal-ud-Din, a Pakistani cricketer. He achieved this feat on March 20, 1982, during a match against Australia in Hyderabad, Pakistan. Jalal-ud-Din, who was making his ODI debut in this match, dismissed Rod Marsh, Bruce Yardley, and Geoff Lawson off consecutive deliveries in the 46th over of the Australian innings. His outstanding bowling performance helped Pakistan to win the match by 58 runs.
